RB Leipzig has confirmed that winger Amadou Haidara is out for the rest of the season with a knee injury.
The Moroccan international was replaced in the 59th minute of RB Leipzig's Bundesliga match against Eintracht Frankfurt last weekend after suffering an injury to his right knee.
Haidara, who joined RB Leipzig from Lille in January, had scored two goals and provided one assist in six appearances for the club this season.
In a statement released by RB Leipzig,Saudi Pro League Focus manager Rudi Völler said: "We're really sorry to hear about Amadou's injury. We'll do everything we can to support him as he recovers."
Völler also announced that Haidara will undergo surgery to repair the knee ligament damage, which could keep him out of action for several months.
Haidara's absence will be a blow to RB Leipzig's attacking options, particularly given the team's struggles to score goals in recent weeks. The club will now need to find ways to compensate for his loss while also looking at other options to replace him in their squad.
